NFL Week 13 Picks: A Trio of Triumphant Teams
Two NFL betting articles from yours truly in one week!?
During a week where many dedicate time to reflect on what they are thankful for, I truly appreciate all of our readers and the opportunity to share my insights each week.
Like my article for this week’s Thanksgiving Day games, I am shying away from recommending a parlay this week, but still have three fresh Sunday game picks for you to ponder.
Let’s get to it!
Game #1: Seattle Seahawks Vs New York Jets
I’ve never been so stoked to lose an NFL wager!
Despite my lack of confidence in my beloved Seattle Seahawks (1.75) last week against the Arizona Cardinals, head coach Mike Macdonald had the boys locked in ready to claim first place in the NFC West.
On the backs of a talented defense and an offense that loves to air it out, the Seahawks effectively dismantled the Cardinals and have much momentum in a four-team chase for the division title.
The Seahawks look to keep it going this week as they travel to the Big Apple to face a struggling New York Jets (2.35) team.
With continued question marks surrounding quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ future with the Jets, the Seahawks look to handle business on the road against a lesser team.
Despite going 0-2 so far this year when betting for/against my hometown team, I’m taking the Seahawks to cover the 2.5 point spread against the Jets.
Whenever you have a team with everything to play for and another already looking to the offseason, betting decisions are easy, and this game between the Seahawks and Jets is no different.
Game #2: Houston Texans Vs Jacksonville Jaguars
This AFC South match-up pits the first place Houston Texans (1.50) and the bottom dwelling Jacksonville Jaguars (2.66).
Despite the Houston Texans being clearly the better football team, the recent struggles of quarterback C.J. Stroud have made games against lesser teams competitive. Dropping a game at home last week to the lowly Tennessee Titans, the Texans look to right the ship during Week 13 and maintain their playoff ambitions.
While Stroud certainly isn’t playing up to his abilities, injuries to offensive targets like wide receiver Stefon Diggs have created even more of a challenge for the young QB.
Although Stroud and the Texans have a lot to get sorted as we get later into the season, I’m confident they will get the job done this week, covering the 4 point spread against the Jaguars.
Game #3: Philadelphia Eagles Vs Baltimore Ravens
The Game of the Week for many NFL fans, it’s a Battle of the Birds between the Philadelphia Eagles (2.33) and the Baltimore Ravens (1.63).
Both squads have young, dynamic quarterbacks and two of the best running backs in the NFL, so while I am tempted to take the Eagles as they are being offered a tempting moneyline, this feels like a great game to make my first over/under bet of the season.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson firing the rock while engaging in the run game with running back Derrick Henry has created a deadly offense ranking #2 in the league for average points scored.
Not to be outshined by the Ravens, Philly running back Saquon Barkley continues to build a case for himself as offensive MVP. Paired beautifully with mobile quarterback Jalen Hurts, the Eagles currently rank 7th in the league in average points scored per game.
With two of the best offenses in the league squaring off, I will be taking the 51 point over for this contest, and you should too!
