WPT® Cyprus Is Live: $2M Guaranteed Championship at Chamada Prestige

The WPT® Cyprus Championship is underway right now at Chamada Prestige. $3,500 buy-in, a $2,000,000 guarantee, and a seat at the WPT® World Championship in Las Vegas waiting for whoever wins it.

The starting flights are running as we speak. And the whole thing builds toward a livestreamed final table on August 24.

Here's what's on the line and the story of the venue WPT® now calls its Cyprus home. If you're reading this too late to head over, here's how you can still win your way to the island this autumn.

$2 million guaranteed — and the Championship is underway

The Main Event runs August 19–24.

Three starting flights (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) feed into Day 2 on August 22. Day 3 is on the 23rd and the final table on the 24th. Every player starts each bullet with 50,000 chips, with unlimited re-entry until the start of Level 11 on Day 2.

For instance, a bust-out on an early flight isn't the end of anyone's tournament.

The $3,500 buy-in breaks down into $3,100 to the prize pool, a $300 entry fee and a $100 staff fee, and roughly one in eight players will finish in the money. The reward at the very top is the part worth circling: the champion doesn't just take the lion's share of a seven-figure pool.

They also earn a place in the WPT® Champions Club and a $10,400 entry to the season-ending WPT® World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas in December. A prize awarded on top of the cash, confirmed in the 2026 player guide. Win in Kyrenia, and your December has a new date.

The $2 million Championship is the highlight of a festival that's been running since August 12. $500K-guaranteed Take-off, a $600K Mystery Bounty, and the $5,000 Chamada High Roller among the events already in the books or on the felt. To close out the schedule, a $7,500 Super High Roller and a Last Chance event.

A new home at Chamada Prestige

The bigger story behind this festival is the location. Chamada Prestige Hotel & Casino, in Kyrenia, Cyprus, has become WPT®'s Cyprus home. It's a five-star resort on the Mediterranean coast, casino, fine dining and spa under one roof. The Chamada Poker room is hosting the action.

WPT® based its Cyprus return here in 2025, its first main-tour stop on the island in more than a decade. In 2026 the tour doubled down, scheduling not one but two festivals at the same venue across Season 24. We now have the August Championship now underway and a WPT® Prime stop to come in October.

Two festivals in a single season at one property. Like this, the venue goes from a one-off booking to a tour's regional base. That's the shift Chamada Prestige has made.

What last year tells us

If you're wondering whether that $2 million guarantee will hold up, last year is the best guide there is.

The 2025 WPT® Cyprus Championship ran at this same venue, with the same $3,500 buy-in and the same $2 million guarantee. A total of 775 entries built a prize pool of roughly $2.4 million, with 97 players reaching the money. Ilia Kitsbabashvili topped them all for $401,100, a Champions Club title and a WPT® World Championship seat.

Past turnout is an indicator, and doesn't mean numbers for the future. However, a room that cleared this exact guarantee a year ago is a strong sign the floor is, once again, only a floor.

Missed August? Win your way into October online

If you can't get to Kyrenia this week, there's a second one at Cyprus, and it's much cheaper.

WPT® Prime Cyprus lands at the same venue on October 15–19, a $1,100 Main Event with a $1,000,000 guarantee. And you can qualify for it online right now. Satellites are running on WPT® Global, with feeder buy-ins starting at $1.10 climbing toward the weekly $108 qualifiers. These guarantee $2,000 WPT® Prime Cyprus packages.

It's the same laddering idea WPT® uses everywhere. A flagship for the big-buy-in crowd in August, and an accessible, qualifiable Prime event to widen the door in October. Win a package from a $1.10 satellite and you've turned pocket change into a live WPT® seat in the Mediterranean.

How to follow the action

You don't need to be at the table to watch the Championship decided.

Globally livestreamed final table, so wherever you are, you can follow the closing stages on August 24. There you can see one player book their share of the pool, the Champions Club title, and that ticket to Las Vegas.
