Place Your Wager on Final 2024 NFL Game in London
The National Football League makes its return this week to Wembley Stadium for the League’s final contest in London for the 2024 season - and you can get your game bets in at the WPT® Global Sportsbook.
Although the NFL continues to grow in popularity across the UK, even the most die-hard pigskin fan could be dismayed to see the final London Series game of the season be played by two of the worst teams in the league.
Despite both the New England Patriots and the Jacksonville Jaguars having 1-5 records, do not assume this is a close, evenly matched game.
A play on a popular saying: “one of these 1-5 teams is not like the other!”
The Jaguars (1.41) make their second journey across the pond this year favoured by 5.5 points against New England (3.04). Some may think this is a sizable spread considering both teams having the same record, but that doesn’t acknowledge some of the advantages Jacksonville has over the Pats
With one team helmed by a rookie QB making only his 2nd career start, it is easy to discern who will have the advantage moving the ball through the air.
Drake Maye - the 3rd overall pick from this draft - showed promise during Week 6 when he made his first NFLstart for the Patriots as they faced off with a daunting 4-1 Houston Texans team. While no one was shocked to see the rookie struggle with 2 interceptions and a costly fumble deep in his team’s own territory, Maye’s output of 3 touchdowns with 243 passing yards certainly provided hope to the floundering team.
While the future may be bright for young Maye, Jaguars QB Trevor Lawernce has the skill and additional experience needed to easily outgun Mayes and help welcome the rookie to the NFL.
Coupled with their veteran quarterback’s experience, the overall experience of the Jacksonville Jaguars as a team should give them an edge come Sunday.
Since the NFL began playing games internationally, the Jaguars’ 12 games in London doubles(the Miami Dolphins - who are No. 2 in international games played.. The all-encompassing experience of Lawrence and the Jaguars when it comes to international play should help them greatly against the Patriots.
