Seahawks a Good NFL Wager This Week
Week 8 of the National Football League (NFL) regular season offers a good variety of close underdog picks, while the best upset bet to make may very well be the Seattle Seahawks (2.44), who are facing the 3-point favoured Buffalo Bills (1.58) at home.

Before you Google me and accuse me of being a biased Washingtonian, let me dismantle your fair accusation using facts and logic.
Let’s begin with the venue for this athletic contest: Lumen Field. Even in its past existence as CenturyLink and Qwest Field, Lumen Field has been widely regarded as the loudest and most difficult environment for visiting NFL teams to play in.
Do the Bills led by QB Josh Allen have the veteran leadership needed to overcome a tough venue on the road? Certainly, but when the team is only favoured by 3 points, dynamics like proven home-field advantage are definitely worth considering.
While Lumen Field is certainly loud for any visiting NFL team, attending fans don’t win football games, players do.
Coming into Week 8 of the NFL season, both the Bills and the Seahawks have much to be excited for. Both teams currently sit in first place in their respective divisions, and are coming off decisive victories against their Week 7 opponents.
Despite a slow start and an early deficit against a struggling Tennessee Titans squad, the Bills left their opponents scoreless in the second half as they skated to a 34-10 victory.
Playing a much more competent opponent on the road, the Seahawks continued to display their league-leading passing offence with a 34-14 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
Injury Issue?
Although the Seahawks secured a decisive victory and halted their three-game skid, they did not leave Atlanta unscathed as star wide receiver DK Metcalf sustained a minor MCL sprain. With Metcalf listed as questionable heading into the contest with Buffalo, his presence - or lack thereof - has a definite impact on a game with only a 3-point spread. Even if Metcalf sits out, the Seahawks +3 may still be a bet worth making.
Even without his best weapon, Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith takes the field as the No. 1-ranked QB in the NFL in terms of passing yards. Is this as impressive as Josh Allen having 12 passing touchdowns and no interceptions so far this year? Certainly not, but Allen won’t be on the field when Smith faces an incredibly average Bills defence.
Do the Seahawks have defensive stats that also suggest they are average? Certainly, but they just secured three turnovers against a competent Falcons offence ranked 7th in yards per game and 5th in total passing yards.
With 6 total NFL games having a spread of 3 or less during Week 8, there is no shortage of “un-favored” teams to bet on, but after reading this, you’ll know what I am watching the closest.
