How to Qualify for the WPT® World Championship 2025 in Las Vegas

Ever dreamed of playing on one of poker’s biggest stages? The WPT® World Championship in Las Vegas stands as one of the true pinnacles of the professional game, and WPT® Global offers you many ways to qualify. Whether through our online satellites, live events, or even partner promotions, your path to the World Championship has never been more accessible than today.

In December of each year, the WPT® World Championship transforms The Wynn in Las Vegas into poker’s global epicenter.

In 2024, the event drew over 2,300 entries and generated a prize pool over $23 million, securing its reputation as one of the most prestigious poker tournaments in the world. Qualifying for this event offers you a seat at the table next to some of poker’s most elite players.

This Championship is where poker reputations are built, and qualification is the first step in your own poker world championship story.

There are three main qualification routes to the WPT® World Championships: live satellites, online qualifiers on WPT Global, and other partnered promotions.

Each route offers a slightly different experience, but they all lead to the same destination: your chance at a seat at the WPT® World Championship.

Having covered more than 40 WPT live and online events this year, our editorial team has seen how players from every background find a way to Vegas, from micro-stakes grinders to regional champions.

Online Routes via WPT® Global

If you prefer playing from home, like so many others, then WPT® Global offers one of the most flexible online qualification routes in all of poker. Our platform runs multi-step tournaments all year-round with buy-ins starting at just $5.50, and weekly Sunday events guarantee multiple seats.

You can climb the stages through micro satellites, main qualifiers, and final packages. Each week, online players can secure their Championship seats, proving you definitely don’t need to play live to reach the main stage.

Live Satellite Tournaments

Live satellites continue to remain the most classic route as they combine that high energy with real tables and the immediate reward of a seat win.

Throughout 2025, WPT® partner casinos worldwide will host satellites that feed directly into the World Championship. Here’s why live satellites could be the option for you:

• Buy-ins start at very accessible levels, with some as little as under $1,000.

• Winners receive a $10,400 Championship seat, and the prize often also includes travel and accommodation in Las Vegas.

• You can choose between single-step or multi-step satellites, depending on your bankroll and schedule.

• WPT® Prime will stop each year in Europe, Asia, and North America and often double as feeder events, giving you even more chances to qualify!

Partner Events and Promotional Packages

WPT® partner casinos and tour sponsors also run exclusive promotions offering Championship packages.

These promotions will typically include travel and accommodation, and also tournament entry. Keep an eye out for:

• Regional partner casino satellites and promotions.

• Seasonal live events with bundled travel packages.

• Official announcements and updates through WPT® newsletters.

If you prefer to take a one-step route, these packages can provide a straightforward way to secure your place and experience the WPT®.

One of the defining features of the WPT® World Championship is its complete accessibility to any player from all over the globe.

ClubWPT qualifiers have turned low-entry online tournaments into life-changing opportunities for some; one player advanced from a $109 buy-in to a six-figure payout, another made it from Nova Scotia and was unemployed when he won his trip to Las Vegas.

These stories show that success doesn’t require a massive bankroll to begin with. Every major poker run can start the same way: one satellite, one chance, and the discipline to make it to Las Vegas.

Your seat at the WPT® World Championship could start with just a single satellite. Whether that be through WPT® Global or a live partner casino, or even a special promotion, every path gives you a shot at one of poker’s most prestigious global events.

Check the official WPT® Championship schedule and start your qualification journey today, because every poker legend starts somewhere, and your story might begin with the very next satellite.
