The WPT® World Championship is the biggest tournament on the WPT® calendar. The good news is you don't have to pay the full $10,400 to play it.
There are four main ways in, and the cheapest starts at $1.10.
Here's the complete list. Online routes, live satellites at Wynn, and direct options. The deadlines, and the 18-versus-21 rule.
The WPT® World Championship is the WPT® Season 24 finale. It's a $10,400 buy-in event at Wynn Las Vegas running December 13–20, 2026.
Three starting flights (December 13–15), with Day 2 on December 16 and final registration before it. It headlines a festival running November 27 – December 21. There are 85-plus events with more than $20 million in combined guarantees.
Now, how to get a seat.
The headline route, and the best value, is online. WPT® Global runs feeder ladders that climb to a weekly $1,060 Sunday "Mega Satellite". You can start at whichever rung fits your bankroll:
Micro: $1.10 → $11 → $110 → $1,060
Low: $5 → $55 → $1,060
Mid: $22 → $220 → $1,060
Those $1,060 Sunday finals run through the campaign, with the last Sunday Mega on November 29. Thus, the online window closes well before the live event. Win through, and you don't only get a seat; you get the $12,400 package, which WPT® Global describes as including:
The $10,400 WPT® World Championship Main Event entry
A $2,000 travel stipend, credited to your WPT® Global account
Exclusive WPT® merchandise, a discounted Wynn room rate, Player Lounge access, and express registration
Eligibility for the $100,000 Golden Ticket. A separate win-only bonus, not part of the $12,400 (first 30 qualifiers — see below)
You still arrange and pay for your own travel, accommodation and any visa; the $2,000 stipend is there to offset it.

Here's why it's good to qualify sooner rather than later.
The first 30 players to win a package through WPT® Global satellites each carry a Golden Ticket. So what is a Golden Ticket?
It is not cash up front.
The Golden Ticket pays $100,000 only if that player goes on to win the Main Event outright. Not if you qualify and bust. It carries across re-entries, but it's voided by any deal or chop (you have to play to a natural conclusion to collect). It also has no cash value and can't be transferred.
Once 30 packages are given, the Golden Ticket is gone, so an early qualifier has something a late one doesn't.
If you're heading to Las Vegas, WPT® is running on-site satellites during the festival. Reported as 25 of them, at a range of buy-ins, feeding the Championship and other events. It's the natural route for anyone in town who'd rather win a seat at the table than online.
Check the official Wynn/WPT® event page for the live satellite schedule and buy-ins.
Two more options round out the menu.
This is if you're holding a WPT® Passport Dollars (PP$) balance. This can be won in earlier WPT® Global events or Passport promotions. With this balance, you can put it toward a direct buy-in to the Championship.
Of course, you can simply buy in for the full $10,400, in cash or using any of the above. The direct buy-in is the baseline. The satellite routes are the value approach.
Winners of certain WPT® and WPT® Prime events this season have a WPT® World Championship seat. So a deep run on tour can be its own ticket to Vegas.
Deadline / rule | When | Miss it → |
|---|---|---|
Full KYC verification | Before December 3, 2026 | Package removed; no prize, no compensation |
Package transfer | Early December (confirm exact date in T&Cs) | Transfer no longer possible |
Play Day 1A | December 13, 2026 | Required for package winners (your first ticket) |
Use all tickets | Within the promo period | Expired tickets forfeited |
A few more rules to plan around:
The 18+ / 21+. You can win a package online at 18 or over, but you must be 21 or older to play live at Wynn Las Vegas. An under-21 winner has to transfer the package or lose it. Don't qualify at 19 and assume you're going to Vegas.
Satellites are "must-play." If you don't play your seat or transfer it, the buy-in rolls into the prize pool when late registration closes on the final Day 1.
Multiple packages: you play your first ticket on Day 1A (December 13) and any others on later starting flights.
Transfers require full KYC from both players, and the Golden Ticket, merch and Player Lounge access are forfeited when a package is transferred.
There's no cash alternative, and online tickets can't be swapped.
The WPT® World Championship qualification runs on WPT® Global for players aged 18 and over. Playing the live event in Las Vegas requires being 21 or older.
Winning a cheap satellite is a great story, but it isn't a plan to make money. Treat it as entertainment, set your limits, and only play with money you can afford to lose. If gambling is affecting you or someone you know, support is available.

Online, through WPT® Global's satellite ladders, which start at $1.10 and climb to a weekly $1,060 Sunday Mega Satellite that awards a $12,400 package. The last Sunday Mega is November 29, 2026.

It's reserved for the first 30 online package winners and pays $100,000 only if that player wins the Main Event outright. It survives re-entries but is voided by any deal or chop, has no cash value, and isn't transferable.

The $10,400 Main Event entry, a $2,000 travel stipend, WPT® merchandise, a discounted Wynn room rate, Player Lounge access and express registration, plus Golden Ticket eligibility for the first 30 qualifiers. You cover your own travel and stay; the stipend helps offset it.

Complete KYC before December 3, 2026, transfer any package by the early-December transfer deadline, and play your first ticket on Day 1A (December 13). Miss the KYC deadline and the package is removed with no compensation.
