WPT® Cambodia Passport to the World Championship: Your Route from Phnom Penh to Las Vegas

For $1,300, a summer stop in Phnom Penh this August doubles as a shot at the season's biggest stage. 

The WPT® Cambodia Passport to the World Championship runs August 12–24, 2026, at NagaWorld. You can play here and earn your way to the WPT® World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas in December. 

If recent history at this venue is any indicator, the half-million guarantee on the Main Event may well be the floor. Here's what to expect and how to plan for it.

The festival stretches around two weeks, with the $1,300 Main Event anchoring the back end from August 20. Aside it sits a full schedule of 70 events at a range of buy-ins. So there's action whether you're flying in for the Main Event or building a longer trip around it.

A guarantee is a floor, not a forecast. Recently at NagaWorld, the floor has been well short of the ceiling every time.

The venue's WPT® Prime stops tell the same story. For example, the February 2025 edition pulled a record 1,484 players, well clear of its $750,000 guarantee. Better yet, the February 2026 brought 1,095 entries for a pool of over $1 million.

Cambodia often shows up in numbers that leave advertised guarantees looking conservative.

None of that guarantees anything this August, past turnout isn't a promise, and you shouldn't bank on an exact number. But the pattern is consistent. A $500,000 guarantee on a $1,300 buy-in reads as a starting point. For anyone thinking about the value, there's one thing worth taking into account. This championship has a low buy-in into what has often become a seven-figure prize pool.

The Passport in the title is the point of the whole festival. There is prize money for each event, no doubt. However, you also have the chance to go to the WPT® World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas in December 2026. The flagship, and the end of the season.

Satellites feed into the guaranteed events across the festival. There are other routes to qualify for the World Championship on top of the Main Event itself.

Now for the exact structure of the Passport package. Check the important points (eg if a qualifying result earns a tournament seat alone, or a seat plus travel and accommodationl cash value) against WPT®'s official event details. Confirm before you plan around it.

What's clear is this is a regional festival with an on-ramp to Las Vegas. A good run in Phnom Penh can turn into a seat on the big stage.

If the $1,300 Main Event buy-in is more than you want to put up, satellites are a viable path. WPT® runs qualifiers into the guaranteed events throughout the festival. The practical cost of entry can be a fraction of face value if you win your way through.

Now, the takeaway for budgeting. Don't assume $1,300 is the only number that matters. The cheapest realistic way into this Main Event is almost always a satellite seat.

If you're coming from outside the region, the all-in-one setup is a practical shout. You can play, sleep and eat without leaving the building, which matters over a multi-day deep run.

For regional players this means a couple things.

Low buy-in. Field that often beats its guarantee. And of course, a direct path to a Las Vegas world championship, all at a venue built for it. Are you a international grinder eyeing a Southeast Asia stop? Well, it's an excellent August anchor with a big enough schedule to justify the flights.

The Main Event is the centerpiece. However, the Passport angle makes it more than another regional stop. Every seat you win here is a potential step toward December at the Wynn.
