Phil Kessel

With three hockey Cup championships to his name, more than 400 career goals and a lifelong passion for the game of poker, Phil Kessel is our latest WPT Global Ambassador.

Hockey’s Ironman - currently at more than 1,000 consecutive games played - Kessel won titles with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 and 2017, then with the Las Vegas Golden Knights in 2023. Kessel also has an Olympic Silver Medal from representing the US in 2010, while his years playing in Toronto made him a favourite among Canadian hockey fans.

Kessel has played poker all throughout his hockey days - cashing in a number of major NLH events around the world - but says he prefers the Great Game of PLO, something his Dad taught him at a young age.
