Aiming for a WPT World Championship Cash

There’s 16 players from WPT Global anxiously hoping their stacks can hold long enough today to earn a tournament cash in the 2,960-entry WPT World Championship. There’s 396 players making Day 3, 370 of them earn a cash and 26 are going to be eliminated before the money bubble pops.

Here’s a look at how the WPT Global contingent looks with their chip counts included.

Nicholas Lee bagged the 5th-largest stack last night, bringing a 2,090,000 stack into day 3 of the competition. Lee won his seat to the World Championship in a $550 WOT Global online qualifier.

Marc Macdonnell (1,890,000) and Nick Yunis (1,595,000) each have more than 100bb available as play begins today with blinds at 10,000/15,000/15,000.

Edmund Chan (1,310,000), LoriAnn Persinger (1,155,000) and Conrad Simpson (1,145,000) round out the WPT Global entrants with stacks of more than one million chips.

Stephen Kehoe (715,000), Eric Liu (700,000), Jason Smith (700,000), Daniel Croft (625,000), Marcus Bell (345,000), Chris Dowling (300,000), Jamie FLynn (260,000), Jonas Mackoff (205,000) and Devin Sweet (180,000) round out the WPT Global entrants looking for a tournament cash.

Tourney over for many

The WPT World Championship experience came to an end in Day 2 for nearly 800 players, among the WPT Global entrants Felipe Balaban, Stephane Barrabes, Conor Bergin, Adam Bobrovich, Shawn Buchanan, Daniel Cameron, Thomas Elder, Marcelo Esperon, Lyle Feeney, Evan Gach ,Fintan Gavin, Justin Golding, Andrew Grimason, Derek Hellenga, Kevin Lee, Kai Lin, Xuan Liu, Rafael Monteiro, Steven Moores, Andrea Morsillo, Colette Murphy, Padraig O Neill, Nakia Pesicka, Jesse Segall, Elliot Smith, Sarah Stefan, Timothy Ulmer, Ezequiel Waigel, Scott Wellenbach, Mark Allen Winchell and Sihao Zhang.

Prize Pool Tops $29 Million

The three-flight total for the WPT World Championship came in at 2,960 entries, creating a prize pool worth $29,008,000, paying the final 370 competitors. The mincash for the first to receive a payouts is $17,750.

Winner of the tournament receives $4,136,000 and all six players at the televised final table are going to earn more than $1 million. The tournament runner-up cashes for $2,830,000, with third place receiving $2,095,000, there’s $1,608,000 for fourth, $1,301,000 for fifth and $1,001,050 to sixth place.
