Place Your Bets On This Week’s Football and EPL Games

There’s a big clash between two of English football’s traditional big guns at Old Trafford on Sunday, with Manchester United vs Spurs the pick of week 6’s fixtures.

Both teams have suffered a couple of early defeats only five games into the season, and losing this one would up the pressure on either Erik Ten Hag or Ange Postecoglou.

Having missed out on the riches of the Champions League this season, another year away from Europe’s top table would not go down well with either set of fans.

United misfired in front of goal again last week in a goalless draw at Crystal Palace that they really should have won, while Spurs came back from conceding an early goal to beat Brentford 3-1.

Home advantage sees the Red Devils 2.28 to win here, with Spurs 2.65 and the draw a tempting 3.80.

The Premier League’s Saturday evening game sees under pressure Wolves boss Gary O’Neil welcome high-flying Liverpool to Molineaux.

O’Neil has pointed out that his bottom-of-the-table team have probably gone into every game this season as underdogs, outlining their tough start, and that is certainly the case here.

Liverpool are as short as 1.34 to take the three points on Saturday evening, with the hosts 7.70 and the draw 5.00.

Things looked to be turning round last week at Aston Villa, but having taken the lead through Matheus Cunha in the first half, Wolves folded in the latter stages of their Midlands derby, eventually succumbing 3-1 to their local rivals.

Arne Slot’s Reds bounced back from their shock 1-0 home defeat against Nottingham Forest to beat Bournemouth 3-0 last weekend and move up to second in the table, and another three points to keep up the pressure on Manchester City looks likely here.

If history is anything to go by, shrewd bettors will be hammering the overs markets in the Newcastle vs Manchester City match that opens the gameweek.

There have been 26 goals in the past 5 EPL games between these two teams at St James’ Park, so goals could be on the cards in the North East.

City needed two goals in last 16 mins to come from behind to win 3-2 in the corresponding fixture last season, but with Erling Haaland - scorer of 10 goals in the first five games of the season - on fire, expect the champions and leaders to make shorter work of a stuttering Newcastle team coming off a first defeat of the season last weekend at Fulham.

Other Premier League games this weekend:

  • Arsenal vs Leicester
  • Brentford vs West Ham
  • Chelsea vs Brighton
  • Everton vs Crystal Palace
  • Nottingham Forest vs Fulham
  • Ipswich  vs Aston Villa
  • Southampton vs Bournemouth
