11 Bracelets for WPT Global Ambassador Ivey
Now standing all alone with the second-most World Series of Poker bracelets won, WPT Global Ambassador Phil Ivey is the winner of WSOP Event 29, the $10,000 2-7 Triple Draw, his 11th WSOP victory in his illustrious career.
Ivey began heads-up play well behind his challenger, Danny Wong, then put on a performance reminding everyone he has - for the last two-plus decades - been considered the best all-around poker player. Ivey stormed to the lead, while Wong could only struggle to keep the match going as long as he could.
The 2-7 victory added $347,440 to Ivey’s earnings, and that’s not his biggest cash so far at the 2024 WSOP. He added $506,757 with an 11th place finish in the $250,000 entry Super High Roller.
What may surprise many is the fact Ivey has never won a WSOP bracelet in a No-Limit Hold’em Event. Cementing that best-all-around moniker, Ivey’s bracelets are from:
- $2,500 PLO
- $1,500 Stud
- $2,500 Stud 8
- $2,000 SHOE
- $5,000 PLO
- $2,500 NL 2-7 Single Draw
- $2,500 Omaha 8 / Stud 8
- $3,000 HORSE
- $2,200 Mix
- $1,500 8-Game Mix
- $10,000 2-7 Triple Draw
Ivey already has six Top-25 finishes at this year’s WSOP, and there’s more than 40 tournaments remaining. Going into this week, Ivey is sixth in the Player of the Year race.
This year’s WSOP cashes pushes Ivey to more than $10 million in career WSOP earnings, and more than $45 million in tournament winnings in his career.
