Hand #5 - Pocket Kings Destroyed

I remember watching the Bay 101 final table stream where Taylor Paur’s pocket kings looked locked in. The tension at the table was clear as players leaned forward, waiting for the flop.

After bluffing and raising throughout the table all evening, his pocket kings had him lay down a pre-flop raise of 400,000, to which Isaac Baron promptly replied with a pre-flop all in holding ace-six.

To little surprise, Paur was fast to insta call Baron’s all in, raising the pot to 7,725,700.

It seemed that Isaac was in hot water, as the flop revealed 8♣ 4♠ 7♥. However, his saving grace arrived on the turn with an ace giving him the pair A♦ 3♥. After the river delivered a 3♥, the pot went to Baron, who was undoubtedly breathing a sigh of relief.

The result: Baron scooped a 7.7M chip pot, and Paur’s kings were left cracked in brutal fashion.

Hand #4 - Trips on the River

I’ve seen Salsberg in dozens of WPT® broadcasts, and his patience usually pays off. Here he faced Theo Jorgensen with A♣10♣ in a 165,000-chip pot.

After pairing on the flop J♣ 8♠ A♥, Jorgensen makes a continuation bet of 85,000, which Salsberg is happy to call.

Both players check the turn, and the board runs J♣ 8♠ A♥ 2♣ 8♦, with the river 8♦ smashing Jorgensen to trip eights. Salsberg checks the river, and Jorgensen understandably raises to 250,000, with Salsberg promptly calling.

The action ends with Jorgensen snatching a massive pot and leaving Salsberg shaking his head, in what was one of the most exciting spikes of the tournament.

Hand #3 - Kathy Liebert Flops a Full House

The biggest jaw-dropper uploaded in September came from Darryll Fish against Jared Mahoney, proving to be one of the best WPT hands on the channel this month.

I watched this hand with bated breath, much like the crowd, while Darryll Fish raised with Q♠J♠. Mahoney called with pocket aces, and the crowd’s reaction told everyone they sensed trouble coming.

As the flop brought out 9♠ 6♠ 3♠, Fish laid down a 450,000, hoping for that flush. With the confidence of pocket aces, Mahoney raises to over a million. Fish announces his all-in, and Mahoney was all too happy to insta call.

Mahoney’s pocket aces had 63% of the outs, but Fish’s Q♠J♠ turned into a flush on the turn as the board ran out 9♠ 6♠ 3♠ 5♥ 7♥.

Upon the arrival of the 7♥ on the river, the crowd went wild as Fish scooped an enormous 8.6M chip pot, leaving Mahoney stunned and leaving it as one of the brutal WPT coolers of recent times.

Hand #2 Aces vs Ace-King for 19.5M Chips

One of September’s most jaw-dropping uploads saw a classic WPT® cooler, with David Paredes and Joe Kuether, colliding in a monster pot at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City .

On the button, David Paredes raised the pre-flop to 880,000 with his pocket aces in hand.

In response, Kuether shoved with ace-king, only to instantly be called by Paredes’ pocket aces, sending it straight to a cooler. A common sight when there’s only 3 players left in a high stakes championship with high blinds.

As the turn arrived revealing 5♣ 9♣ 5♦ K♥, there was a tense moment for Paredes as it gave Kuether a glimpse of hope and a few more outs coming into the river.

However, the river eventually arrived and the board of 5♣ 9♣ 5♦ K♥ Q♦,  and gave Paredes the win and a staggering 19.5M chip pot, while Kuether hit the rail.

Hand #1 - Darryll Fish Cracks Aces with a Monster Trap

The biggest jaw-dropper uploaded in September came from Darryll Fish against Jared Mahoney, proving to be one of the best WPT hands on the channel this month.

Fish, holding a Q♠J♠, came in on the pre-flop with a raise of 450,000, which Mahoney quickly called holding a promising pocket A♥A♠, bringing the pot to 1,075,000.
