Bet on Football and EPL Games at WPT Global

Just two weeks into the new English Premier League (EPL) season and the league table already has a familiar look.

There are four teams with 100% records at the top of the standings, with Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool all winning both their opening matches. Brighton are surprisingly the fourth member of the perfect-starter club, with 31-year-old rookie boss Fabian Hurzeler enjoying an amazing start to his EPL career.

This weekend, matchday 3 throws together two of those 100% teams, as Brighton travel to Arsenal in the most intriguing game on Saturday.

The Seagulls have an impressive recent record in the red half of North London, with three wins, three defeats and a draw from their seven games at the Emirates.

The Gunners are favourites to carry on their perfect start, but shrewd bettors know Brighton make a habit of upsetting the big boys, and are looking at the juicy prices for the away side to spoil the party.

Can Newcastle Earn Their Spurs?

Goals galore are expected in Sunday’s early kick-off, when two teams with Champions League ambitions, Newcastle and Spurs, meet at St James’ Park.

In the past three seasons, the six Premier League games between these two teams have produced 30 goals, with the Magpies winning the home fixture 4-0 last term and 6-1 in 2022/23.

That five goals a game average is played out in the prices for this one, with Both Teams To Score at 1.28, while neither to score is a massive 30.0. Both teams are priced 18.0 to secure a mundane 1-0 win, and with the outrights so close - Newcastle are marginal favourites at 2.42 with Tottenham 2.47 - the draw at 3.80 is definitely in play.

Anyone predicting a third comfortable home win for Eddie Howe’s men in the past in under 18 months will like the look of the 8.80 on offer for the home side to win by 3+.

Who Wins The Battle Of The Reds?

Want our sports pick? The game of the weekend is undoubtedly Manchester United v Liverpool at Old Trafford. The two traditional powerhouses of English football, just 30 miles or so apart geographically, have a rivalry as old as the game itself.

This is the 183rd league meeting between United and Liverpool, with the Red Devils holding the overall advantage, winning 69 to Liverpool’s 61, with 52 draws.

New Reds boss Arne Slot has made an impressive start to his tenure as Liverpool manager, with comfortable wins against Ipswich and Brentford, but he’ll have history against him if he is to make it three from three. No Liverpool manager has taken three points from his first game against Manchester United in nearly 50 years. The last to taste victory the first time they faced United was the great Bob Paisley in 1975.

Liverpool have enjoyed 7-0, 5-0 and 4-0 victories over United in the past three seasons, though they failed to beat their old rivals in three meetings last season, including a memorable 4-3 FA Cup defeat.

Will United be able to make home advantage count, or will Slot’s revolution continue and send the Scousers the 30 miles back up the East Lancs Road with the bragging rights.
