Three NFL Picks for This Weekend

Much like a number of teams that took losses during Week 8 of the National Football League (NFL) season, I am looking for redemption following my failed prediction of the Seattle Seahawks upsetting the Buffalo Bills.

While blowing two easy touchdowns in the red zone certainly hurt Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith the most, I was a close second as I resisted the urge to throw decorative pillows at the TV during the 31-10 loss.

Don’t fret dear reader, I’m in a much better place, and have not just one but three Week 9 NFL games to consider as you contemplate what bets to make at the WPT Global Sportsbook

If you like these three potential picks as much as I do, perhaps consider joining me as I lock-in a parlay.

Let’s get into it…

Dallas Cowboys Vs Atlanta Falcons

Football fans outside of the Lone Star State love to see the Dallas Cowboys (2.29) struggle, and this year spiteful fans have had much to enjoy. I personally think the NFL as a whole is better when the Cowboys are doing well, but that hasn’t dissuaded me from placing money on the Atlanta Falcons (1.65) this week.

Coming off of a major road victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to secure first place in the NFC South, the Falcons have momentum and home-field advantage against a struggling Cowboys squad on the verge of a three-game skid.

Despite having home-field advantage, momentum, and quite frankly a better football team, Atlanta is only favored by 3 points against the Dak Prescott led Cowboys.

With not a whole lot suggesting this game will be competitive, consider taking the Falcons to cover this Sunday.

San Diego Chargers Vs Cleveland Browns

I love a good upset, and quite enjoyed witnessing the Deshaun Watson-less Cleveland Browns (2.02) get one over the Baltimore Ravens, who lost despite having two offensive MVP candidates in quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry. Taking the reigns as QB2, Jameis Winston passed for over 300 yards en route to grounding the Ravens.

I’ve loved Winston since his early days stealing crab legs at Florida State, but my affection for the QB is not enough to bet on him and the Browns as they face the visiting San Diego Chargers (1.84).

English Premier League Picks

Even though they are playing at home and coming off a big win, the Browns are still the Browns, and are likely to falter facing a Chargers team led by quarterback Justin Herbert. Herbert has performed well this year, throwing only one interception as he and head coach Jim Harbaugh have led San Diego to a winning 4-3 record.

Favored by only 1 point at the time this blog is written, the Chargers should win easily this Sunday.

Chicago Bears Vs Arizona Cardinals

Quarterback Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears (1.99) are likely still seething as they travel to Arizona following their loss to the Washington Commanders via Hail Mary miracle.

A new week means a new chance to get back on track, but while the Bears are only slight dogs against the Arizona Cardinals (1.87) led by quarterback Kyler Murray, don’t be shocked if this game isn’t close.

The Williams era has certainly been positive so far for the 4-3 Bears, who have much to be excited for with their new, young QB, but that doesn’t change the fact the Bears have yet to win on the road this season.

With an inability to travel well - coupled with the Cardinals steadily finding their groove in a near four-way tie for first in the NFC West - the Bears may be ill-prepared for success come Sunday.

Favored by 1 point with home field advantage and much more momentum than their competition, the Cardinals are likely to send the Bears back to Chicago still winless on the road.
